A break from the rain,
Bright sun shines in a blue sky
As happy tails wag.

A loved one departs.
Heavy the burden of loss,
Expected or not.

Grey skies, constant rain.
Keep heart when plans must be changed;
Nice weather for ducks.

Choosing to react,
The hurt is self-inflicted.
Show yourself more love.

Celebrate each win
Forgive inconsistencies
Move forward in hope

Focus has limits.
Like an overflowing cup,
Excess pours away.

On finding the path
The one who never turns back
Goes to greater things

Knowledge feeds the mind
But rest brings it to balance;
Both must have their place.

Glasses case snaps closed
Gentle tap of paw on leg
It’s time for a walk

The heart and the mind
Like Jupiter and Venus 
Perfectly aligned

Always remain calm.
Things outside of our control 
Will be as they are.

The journey is long
Look for joy in the small things
Treasure each moment

Progress can feel slow
The yardstick seems much too long
Bigger steps will come

Step by patient step
Be the change you want to see;
Don’t wait for others.

Ears flap in the breeze,
Wind ruffles furry noses.
Big sniffs in long grass.
